First, for all of the "quick and easy" weight loss diet pill suggestions, remember, if something sounds too good to be true... it probably is, particularly if you have to pay for it.

On Yahoo!Answers I find certain questions being asked repeatedly which is simply a reflection of new people participating. A couple of common questions amount to "How do I lose weight," or more specifically, "How do I lose abdominal fat?" I have gotten very positive responses from my answers when I paused to reply (and now beginning to get "It works!" emails that are very gratifying. I like helping people)... so have recently decided to put a good solid answer on my Yahoo!360 Blog (September 10) that I can point people to. These are my thoughts as a physician and athlete.

Don't target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into "starvation mode" and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful.

There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below.

The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.

Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.

To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, "swimming calories" you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine.

For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet.

Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet... that isn't overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further.

There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about "How to get a six-pack?" The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the "core is active" which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.

If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.

Yes skipping rope will burn calories and help you to loose weight . It will also increase your heart rate and strengthen your heart as well as your legs. Increased activity leads to an increase in appetite so you also need to learn good nutrition. Learning what foods are healthy and what portions you need can help you feel better as well as loose weight. Keep in mind that exercise builds muscle which in turn burns more calories. Muscle also weighs more than fat.
Skipping rope will increase stress to your knees and ankles, so you might want to add some knee exercises to strengthen your knees. It will burn more calories than running, because you are actually using your arms to move the rope. It will also burn more calories than a treadmill. If you want to change your weight a combination of good nutrition and exercise will help you be successful. Good luck.
References :
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
References :
Starting and maintaining an exercise program because you know you have to or because its "good for you" is next to impossible. You need to find an activity that you like, or one that sounds intriguing and adventurous and get into it. Maybe the activity itself isn't something that keeps you shape, but requires that you workout to do it well. Skiing comes to mind. With that as the carrot, gym workouts, or workouts you don't especially like become a little easier.

When you were a kid playing, how many times did you get in trouble because you were having fun and simply didn't notice that it had gotten dark out? That's what you're looking for.

I go to the Y for workouts once in a while, but if I had to depend on that 100%, I'd be a couch potato. I happen to like cycling and running. Cycling in particular has turned into a vice. Left to myself, I'd ride all day. For you, maybe its swimming, or basketball, or walking with your friends. Or maybe you don't have an active vice yet. Find one.
References :
Losing weight too fast is a myth since you do not control it. Some people want to know how much weight per week is safe to lose. Others want to know how much weight they will lose sticking to a certain program. There are lots of people who repeat what they have heard but no reliable sources say that only a certain amount is safe to lose. You can drink too much water, eat too much, exercise too much and fast too long (an MD fasted a fat guy for 8 months and he died). But you can not sleep too much! Why? Because you do not control how much you get only how little you get. You cannot force yourself to sleep if you do not need it.

So you do not choose how quickly you lose weight. Your body decides that. So only your body knows how much you will lose. It will only allow you to lose what is safe. One guy under an MD's care lost 180 pounds in a year fasting on weekends. So some lose quickly on a bad weight loss plan and others lose slowly on a great weight loss plan. Make sure to eat foods with nutrients for skin, like omega-3 fatty acids, to avoid loose skin, when you lose weight.

First off, the right amount of weight that the average person should hope and try to lose a week when eating and working out correctly is something like 1 or 2 pounds a week. That is a good, healthy, safe, smart, effective amount to lose. That right there is fast weight loss. So if you are losing weight at that speed, then hang on tight, because you are going the maximum weight loss speed limit! Yup, 1 or 2 pounds lost a week. Not as fast as most people would hope for, but sadly, that's just the way it is. You just can't lose weight fast, or at least, as fast as many people would like to. Aside from all of the obvious health risks and possible negatives of losing any more than that a week, losing anymore than 1 or 2 pounds a week means you are losing muscle, not fat. As you can guess, that's not good.

Here are some training and Im not joking. 1 is the easiest to hardest

1) Light housework
These activities also burn little total calories - around 2-3*calories per minute.

2) Walking
Walking is said to be one of the best exercises for losing weight. The percentage of fat burning is around the 55% ** mark, however as with all exercises it really depends on the intensity of effort.

3) Aerobic exercise or light Jogging
Aerobic classes are very popular for many trying to lose weight. They can be very effective in burning a large amount of total energy in a single session. However if a person is overweight and/or unfit the class may become too intense for proper fat burning, especially if the individual is highly motivated to keep up with other, fitter members of the class. For this individual breathing would become heavy and this will always result in carbohydrates becoming the predominant fuel, pushing the percentage of fat burning down as low as 30%

4) Running (7 minute mile average)
At 7 minute mile running we will burn more than 10 *calories per minute and looking at most runners on the street many may deduce that this must be the best exercise to lose weight. Most runners seem so thin and lean but in fact running at this pace would not be the best idea to lose weight. We would probably be burning about 80% carbohydrates and only 20% ** fat.

5)Sprinting or weight training
Some of the most intense exercise we can perform. The energy to fuel these activities comes almost exclusively from carbohydrates. The amount of total calories burned is very high whilst performing the movement, however they can only be performed for short periods due to muscle fatigue. Plenty of rest periods are needed between each bout resulting in less total calories burned over the course of a training session. Normally other aerobic exercises are performed continuously for the whole duration of a session therefore total calories burnt are usually much higher.

Not as fast as most people would hope for, but sadly, that’s just the way it is. You just can’t lose weight fast, or at least, as fast as many people would like to. Aside from all of the obvious health risks and possible negatives of losing any more than that a week, losing anymore than 1 or 2 pounds a week means you are losing muscle, not fat. As you can guess, that’s not good.

Here are some training and Im not joking. 1 is the easiest to hardest

1) Light housework
These activities also burn little total calories – around 2-3*calories per minute.

A positive reason to exercise lightly over a longer duration!
References :
Oh and I dont mine your body.
