Peacefull protests in the city gave me a chance to explore some off-the-beaten-path parts of the Akrotiri this weekend.

Souvlaki is delicious
Souvlaki=furry
What do most sheep and goats from Chania's hinterlands have in common? They all grow up dreaming of becoming part of a souvlaki platter of some variety. Whether served on a pita in strips, or in 1" cubes on a skewer, the meat from these shaggy Cretan beasts is one of the more delicious aspects of a visit to Chania. Coupled with a glass of retsina, a spritz of lemon and a dish of tzatziki, souvlaki makes for a great lunch or improvised meal after a night out at a cool Chania bar like Music Bar Point.

This :46 sec. video features some goats jogging past an olive grove. Also featured are some shots from the northern edge of the Akrotiri peninsula. ☮ protests forced me to stay away from Chania this weekend.
