Chania=beautiful
Many things have been revealed to us while we enjoy our retrospective vision as people living in February of 2006 . And by now it's certainly not a secret that the Mediterranean city of Chania was a hotly contested part of the world, historically.
Battles were fought. Bad guys and good guys went toe to toe in the name of this, that or the other culture/kingdom/language/nation/ principle/greedy mission. The tragic thing was that Chanian and Cretan lives were lost.
Thousands of years have passed. Structures were erected in the name of this or that, and as time passed, struggles strange to us have waxed and waned. At the end of it all, the winners gained and the losers lost.
One thing is constant through it all:
Come to Chania. Enjoy it. You're crazy not to.
For entertainment value, here's what had to say about Chania in 1989.
