Accordion (*) and a tour of the harbour

We present some casual video of the Venetian harbour area of Chania. The area was full of people enjoying a sunny day. A traveling troupe of circus performers treated cafe patrons to an impromptu performance. My Chemical Romance has put out a concept album called "The Black Parade." This site gives the new release out of five.
The point is this: Chania is a great place to relax, listen to music, and make videos to post on the internet.

Pamela and I chugged our way to the harbour area of Chania today with the intention of buying a satellite receiver. Success. We found a great place for all things digital. The Killers are now our favorite rock group for no particular reason, other than the fact that their new album Sam's Town totally rocks.

Souvlaki is delicious
Souvlaki=furry
What do most sheep and goats from Chania's hinterlands have in common? They all grow up dreaming of becoming part of a souvlaki platter of some variety. Whether served on a pita in strips, or in 1" cubes on a skewer, the meat from these shaggy Cretan beasts is one of the more delicious aspects of a visit to Chania. Coupled with a glass of retsina, a spritz of lemon and a dish of tzatziki, souvlaki makes for a great lunch or improvised meal after a night out at a cool Chania bar like Music Bar Point.

There was an unexpected change in the weather today. All forecasts for Chania previously pointed to 'stay inside.' Today was anything but that. It was warm, sunny and inviting. The Cretan weather cycle officially snorted in it's sleep today and brought us some beautiful sunshine.

Olives are plentiful
Plants=happy
People will want you to believe that you're innocent when it comes to olive eating, but any way you look at it, it's murder. All these small, plump and delicious olives want to do is fall to the ground, germinate and sprout into new olive trees. Instead, we're eating them!

We put them on salads. We eat them while drinking beer. We even toss them up into the air and try to catch them in our mouths, miss, and then pick them up off of the ground and eat them if it's been less than five seconds. It's total depravity.

ChaniaBeachNews mistakes with the camera

I own a very nice video camera. I intend to display Chania's beauty using the attributes of this camera. Sometimes, however, the camera operator (me) makes mistakes. Here are some of the 'best' of those mistakes.

Question: Why are you showing these mistakes if you feel they're mistakes and didn't include them in your original presentation of Chania?

Answer: Nobody's perfect. I want to show some common camera mistakes so that people don't make them when they come here on holiday.

The weather was cooperative today for an excursion to Chania's historic harbor. In my opinion, the harbor area is the most filmed and photographed site in the Chania municipality, so I've tried to provide unorthodox versions of common shots.

I went out for a run this afternoon and predicted that this evening's sunset over Chania was going to be really nice. So I grabbed the camera and headed to a nearby farm and filmed the last 30 minutes of today's sunshine.

Yesterday's sunshine is a memory, but our trip to the Venizelos Graves has left us with enough raw video to have some fun with. I hope to entertain and inform you about the beautiful city of Chania along the way.

107.3 FM radio station promotion : We at ChaniaBeachNews are neither liberal nor conservative, we are just ourselves. So when we were asked to create another TV spot for a local American radio station we charged right in with aplomb. I just used the word 'aplomb' in a sentance. Call them for requests at 28210-21352.
